| Description | Piotr Mitzner was born in 1955 in Warsaw. He graduated from the Theatre Studies Department of the Higher Theatre School and worked in the literary department of Polish theatres. In the 1980s, he was one of the organizers of the underground publishing house "Krug." From 1999 to 2021, he taught at Cardinal Wyszyński University in Warsaw, heading the Department of 20th-Century Culture and the Department of European Modernism. His main research interests are 20th-century Polish literature and Russian émigré writers in Poland. From 1999 to 2018, he was also deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine "Novaya Pol'sha." He is the author of 22 books of poetry and several collections of articles on theatre and literature. He has translated works by Alexei Kruchenykh and Daniil Kharms into Polish, as well as a book of poems by Sergei Stratanovsky. |
