| Title | Romanticheskaja Finlandia (Romantic Finland: antologija, russ.ed.) |
| Description | This anthology is devoted to Finland in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, a period of global historical change and the formation of new ideological paradigms. Finland's incorporation into the Russian Empire coincided chronologically with the process of assimilation of the romantic worldview into Russian cultural consciousness, which led to interest in this previously unexplored territory manifesting itself in a wide variety of geographical, cultural, political and poetic aspects. The aim of this publication was to reconstruct this interest in its historical perspective. Conceived and compiled at the end of the last century, the anthology offers both well-known and lesser-known works that reflect impressions from the study and exploration of Finland. The texts published in the book are accompanied by commentaries introducing a number of authentic Finnish and Swedish-language materials into scientific circulation. The publication is intended both for specialists in Russian literature and culture and for a wide range of readers who wish to learn about Finland in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. |
