Durnev D. Dom na linii ognja. Hronika rossijskogo vtorzhenija v Donbass

Author Durnev D.
Title Dom na linii ognja. Hronika rossijskogo vtorzhenija v Donbass
Description Born in Kramatorsk and trained as a doctor, Dmytro Durnev combined hospital work with journalism in the late 1990s and by the early 2000s had become one of the best-known writers in his native Donbas. From 2014 onward, he was among the few independent journalists in the region who could report both from the so-called DPR and from towns that remained under Ukrainian control.
"House on the Line of Fire" is a first-person account by a fearless witness who has seen prison cells and official offices, who understands the cost of compromise and of human ties, and who stayed in his home for as long as he could. Even after being forced to leave, he never stopped feeling bound to it. The book offers a full and vivid picture of life in Donbas in the twenty-first century, from clan struggles and political division to the rule of the DPR, with its daily absurdity and brutal repression, and then to Russian occupation and the devastation of the region.
