| Description | Maryja Martysievich was born in Minsk in 1982. She is a poet, translator, publicist, and organizer of literary events. She is taking her first steps as a publisher, having founded the book series "Amerykanka" and "Hradus". Martysievich has published five books of poetry: "Dragons fly to spawn: Essays in verse and prose" ("Цмокі лятуць на нераст: эсэ ў вершах і прозе", 2008), "Embassy: Own poems and poems by others" ("Амбасада: вершы свае і чужыя", 2011), "Sarmathia" ("Сарматыя", 2018), "How to get rid of Mamatut" ("Як пазбыцца Маматута", 2020), and "Watershed" ("Водападзел", 2022). She received two awards for "Sarmathia" in 2019 and the Audience Award of the Václav Burian Prize in Olomouc in 2022. Lives in Minsk and in Bronnaja Hara. |
